Dear Parents/Caregivers

This form is an expression of interest for students wishing to play Hockey in 2022. If we can get enough numbers to create a team, one will be entered.

 

Expressions of interest are due by April 8th please. This is so we can confirm whether we will be entering a team.

 

DATES/DAYS

The competition will begin on May 11 (Week 2 of Term 2) and runs for 14 weeks. Final games are played on August 24. Games are played on a Wednesday afternoon, beginning at 3.45pm.

 

LOCATION

Games are played at Alexander McMillan Turf (Otago Hockey) and Kings High School, with a possible option of Taieri College for teams located closer to this area. Please be aware that Taieri College is only a possibility at the moment, if you are not able to transport your child into the other locations please indicate this on the form.

 

FEES

Registration fees need to be paid by May 6th to ensure your child can play Hockey this season.If you require assistance with paying your fee, please see the office to make payment arrangements.

 

Fees for this year are as follows:

Year 3/4: $52.00 per player

Year 5/6: $58.00 per player

 

HOCKEY SET-UP

Year 3/4 Mini Sticks: Train and play format - skills session for 20 minutes followed by a 20 minute game on 1/4 turf. Teams need to provide a coach/manager and a trained Otago Hockey coach will assist with the skills session (to help upskill the students and the coach/manager).Year 5/6 Kiwi Sticks: 6 a-side game played on 1/4 turf.

The year 5/6 competition is split into two grades - developing and competitive.

 

COACHES

We would love to have parents help coach and manage our teams (without this support our team entries will be limited). Please note that all coaches and managers need to be fully vaccinated.If your child is interested in playing hockey this year, please complete this Google Form by April 8th.
